Lady Tulip flower information including order, family, genus & species of Lady Tulip.
Lady Tulip or "Lady Jane" is of the Tulipa Clusiana genus. An Asian species of tulip, Lady Tulips grow up to 1 foot high and are known for their longevity in southern gardens due to their lack of need for cooler temperatures. The Lady Tulip is ivory white with outer petals of rosy-red edged with white on the exterior, inside the flower is solid white. Naturally they are found in mountainous areas with temperate climates. Blooming during the spring, they become dormant in the summer once the flowers and leaves die back, emerging above ground as a shoot from the underground bulb in early spring.
